tension has the goal to reach the maximum level of sonic enlightenment of the sound. the most important thing of all is the sound, not the words, not the background, and nor even the people. tension is the former project of one single man named emmanuel. (100101 / start of heading).
for its second release ryc has decided to showcase rome and barcelona, two cities with both a very healthy upcoming techno scene. for this second release giorgio gigli & fabrizio lapiana has decided to team up representing rome, as nx1 and error etica will be in full support of barcelona.
the swedish label dirty hands strikes back with double force. this motor driven techno 12 is hard to hide from. labelboss per hammar says when patrick gave me this track, i played it in every set for the 3 months. when he later told me that he hasnt found a home for it, we said in choir ‘lets do a dirty hands release out of it!. and after that moment, all my previous plans for the label was deleted. with patricks ruthless original combined with per hammars jungle sounding edit on the flip, this release isnt anything but a key into the producer duos minds.
having launched with a various artists double pack last year, the untold series returns with a new release that retains this approach, as well the yellow and black vinyl colour scheme, -respectively representing the sun and the darkness-. entitled chapter 1, this double vinyl release features eight new artists whose productions still fall under the banner of spirituality that seems integral to the untold series. very much an international collection, south american furz commences proceedings with the latinised minimalist -420error- and from here chapter 1 runs the gamut of minimal techno with particular highlights coming from andrey zots and exercise in broken techno abstraction, pheek s playful -interne-, and the villalobos-esque -regarde le ciel- from suburbs. here s to further chapters please

you have to repeat the truth always, even because of the error around, it is preached, not by individuals but by the masses. so the madness is invisible when it adopted sufficiently large proportions. in this case we are connected: i am you and you are me! would i lie to you? who does not know the truth is a fool. but who knows it and calls it a lie, is a criminal. but one day you will have to admit officially that what we baptized truth, have an even greater illusion than the world of dreams. do you want to be a part of the silly people. available as limited edition red vinyl.

ol aka oleg buyanov is well known in his native russia already. he has a background extending from releases on faces records and scuzzy lo-fi hip hop beats on labels like error broadcast, idle and fine grains dating back to 2007. more recently though he has been increasingly turned on by dance floor focussed sounds and as such, here come two missives on russias capital bass (which also hosts a popular bass and garage night in moscow and has done since 2006).
at the edge of failure a door to greater understanding and discovery is sometimes opened. some of mankinds greatest discoveries and experiences took place by sheer coincidence or even by mistake. from the big bang, to penicillin, or the invisible light we call x-rays, chance and human error has played a big part of our history and evolution as a species - can we really afford to be perfect when we owe our mistakes and weaknesses so much?
russian ol and scottish ¥oin are two young producers with something to say. on the ascent as emergent artists and off the back of excited feedback from their respective solo releases on error broadcast & tuff wax, ol & oin are in collaboration mode for the sink ep on fine grains.

the >spectrum riff< ep comes from moscow based beat maker and full time firefighter alexander goryachev, otherwise known as 813. five original tracks bursting with juicy synth lines, retro drum machines and waves of thick sub bass, culminating in a sound that is one part boogie, one part hip hop, one part electro and three parts forward thinking bass music. slugabed (ninja tune) appears on remix duty with a drum heavy workout full of shuffling percussion, deep basslines and strong melodies. 813 has been operating in the much talked about russian beat scene for a couple of years, appearing on error broadcasts >fly russia< compilation and kicking off the rad collective label with the >back in space jungle< ep. he has another ep on rad dropping this year along with other projects and collaborations in the pipeline. as a live act he has supported moby, doom and hudson mohawke. the spectrum riff ep has been a long time in the making, its been worth the wait.
isn t it astounding how musikkrause manages to change direction? on one hand you can find albums from feindrehstar and ian simmonds, as well as a number of diverse features. maximum is the catchword. who can bring bona fide, raw, full-service techno for a deep seated mind fuck? berk offset of whom the technoiden world out there is no stranger, has the answer at the ready with a 2x funky, dada techno for culture-drunks and solar plexus-beatniks. the flowing lyricist rainer maria silke is known as the techno-activist part of two duo s. together with the japanese tanaka hideyuki he celebrates an abundant frizzle-fest ornately, bound with alex kork under the handle error as cannibal cooking club to a freaky loud industrial-techno with an experimental edge. added to that he is a manager of the label 9volt-musik which blithely ignores the trends but instead serves a challenging techno sound. the raveline supported, 22nd release from their catalog stromberk recently bagged a record of the month! for musikkrause berk offset mimes the dead doris with a filthy straight-lined techno avant garde for a life in the dance floor heavens. he is the charming psychiatrist with the melting grin and the right medicine in his frock, who muses from time to time over the effectiveness of shock therapy.
ramrod is a rebell on the dancefloor and on the decks! known for his guitar and rock based productions he brings us 4 tracks with strong songcharacter in his rebell-rave style. he is also known for his great dj sets together with syntax error as the die bomclikks (german pronounciation) dj team. another new record which can be used to bring the dancelfoor up to the boiling point.
alex kork, founder of 9volt presents 4 great minimal-techno tracks on plattenbau-music. alex also released on relax. he did his first steps producing electronic music already in his youth. experiments with self-made oscillators, noise generators, synthesizers and sequencers he was always in searching for new sounds. as techno found the way in his hometown in the early 90s he was flashed by the new sound. as hydro he played on a lot of events and also he organised own parties. since founding the cannibal cooking club together with error in 1999 they play as liveact in the clubs. the own label for their crazy and unique sound was born in 2003. his label 9volt-musik was founded in 2006. focussed on the sound he likes, its a platform for his own productions and friends.
get ready for brazilian hard techno! while carnaval is full in progress, in the carnaval capitol of the world rio, somewhere deep hidden in the dark parts of the city you will hear the hard pounding beats coming at you through the walls and foundations. once you found where the sound is coming from you will be blasted away by the monsterous bass kicks brazilian percussion and rave noise from marcio m., malke, alex tb and barbers. this is techno and they are proud of it!
>i keep asking myself where they take all that brilliant music from. its just as if somebody had poked a bees nest and then it all burst out. i feel deeply connected to the pampa style…< (terry hogann, the musical mistress, 10/2010). as was to be expected, pampa is steadily developing into a platform for cross-border electronic dance music. each pampa release sounds different from the previous and still pampa remains a conclusive musical planet. this is all the more surprising in the case of pampa005, which features two completely different artists: side a: nathan fake - xmas rush having reportedly recorded his track >xmas rush< in his london studio during a jam session, nathan fake (border community, traum, saw) has turned in a total brainfuck. its mercylessly exaggerated, psychedelic, inexorable, and at the same time sweet and heart-warming. a very rare mixture. unique in its consistency, we havent heard anything like it since the 90s. its so nice and overwhelming to have your ears exercised the right way again. evergreen… side aa: dj koze pays tribute to michael smith - >mi cyaan believe it< in the meantime, dj koze has moved on to completely different spheres. once again, he astonishes his public with an extremely danceable version of michael smiths >mi cyaan believe it<. having originally started off as a digital error, and recorded within a single night, this tune recalls the ruthlessness, rawness and revolutionary energy of public enemy
dirty fingers licked is a non stop ride of terror, speedcore & nu metal mashed to destroy your eardrums. ripping guitars, bad ass beats and twisted vocals make this a direct trip to hell and back.
excellent groovin deep dubby techno!
a couple of weeks ago some records were delivered into our warehouse in error. i put one of them on the turntable, preparing to ridicule it. how surprised i was then when it turned out to be as good as this. when i tracked down the label owner and asked him for sales notes i was sent the following:

minimal music has the reputation to create alot of little. alexander pavlenko, a talented producer from ukraine, is here to change all that and even raise the bar while he is at it! you cant deny this young mans skills for production and minimalism, no cheesy lines, no blips and blobs that we all heard a 1000 times allready. >carbon black< is one of those tunes you will instantly remember.. it sounds so crispy, so clean, so... pavlenko.. and it sticks inside your head like chewing um sticks to your hair.. the flip is no different. on >error 99< pavlenko keeps the drive a bit lower but the effectiveness is immense. dark vibes combined with even darker basslines make this one error you cant call the helpdesk for.
a ton of steel and pipes used as instruments? à driving steel beats, accompanied by synthesizer sounds and experimental industrial samples create the sound of pale musics premiere release >phsychomania<. for sure this record, presented by matt eno and steve morell, head of pale music, is no easy listening. five bands / projects come together on this sampler, all of them top name current level of electronic and industrial music. from time to time the music appears to be dark and eerie. guest vocalists include luna di morph and rosa lee riza.
one year after >happy meal<, his first 12 on ed banger records, the man behind the uffie project is back with a determinative second ep, >p*n*m*b<. five exclusive tracks mixing in a perfect alchemy the futuristic electro of >constant ovulation< with the freshness of >the bright side< and the techno touches of >age 21< and >liisborg error<, finishing with the groovy cut beat of >flashin< outro

pelle buys (error error) and a different jimi (egoexpress) show up with a rollicking, rattling drum loop, suggesting marching bands at carnaval and a horn that goes directly to your brain. intense stuff with a more minimal remix by david k
the first release for 2009 on universal vibes welcomes new artist keep the secrets. after a long history of musical trial and error, john renfrow and deric jones decided that it was time to take a different direction in their musical vision. it started two years ago with a simple beat and a slow jazz guitar, and soon developed into an eclectic fusion of musical expression. each note ebbs and flows with hints of many different styles and genres. both members of keep the secrets have found level ground in creating a sound that ambitiously exceeds the musical standards of today, and have vowed to honor their dreams by releasing songs that they love. with a definite balearic vibe running throughout, they compliment the uv vibe perfectly while adding a new stylistic angle. label head paddy freeform provides two edits which stretch the tracks out into dancefloor heaven.
2 sides - 2 moods. makaton once again takes a tour to the dark side of industrial techno, while max duley brings some candles to light up the basement of rodz-konez records.
